About Komorebi Travel

What is Komorebi?

Our name comes from the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees. It is a fleeting, beautiful moment that you can only notice if you are still enough to look.

Komorebi was born from a realization: modern travel has become a race. Most travel companies focus on how many spots you can tick off a list. We are here to reclaim the stillness. We host intentional travel experiences where the act of observing the shifting light in a forest or sharing home-cooked meals becomes the destination itself.

From Backpacker to Slow Travel Advocate

Aniketh Sircar, founder of Komorebi Travel

Hi, I am Aniketh E. Sircar, founder of Komorebi Travel. My journey began in 2015 with a borrowed tent and a heart full of curiosity. At eighteen, I headed to Parvati Valley with no plan, hitchhiking between villages and living on simple meals and endless cups of tea. In that mountain silence, I found a sense of freedom that changed my life.

That single trip turned into years of exploring offbeat destinations in India and Southeast Asia. I learned that a shared story is worth more than any monument. After studying Travel and Tourism I started leading high-altitude treks and overlanding expeditions in the Indian subcontinent and hosting cruise tours in Vietnam, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, I noticed a shift: travel was becoming a checklist, and the "quiet" was being lost.

The Birth of Komorebi

We started Komorebi because we believe travel lost something along the way. Our Trip Captains and Hosts are not guides. They are people who know how to slow things down, open doors, and let a place tell its own story to those patient enough to listen.
